Winter Snowfall Boosts Tourist Visits to Nuristan Province

With the onset of winter snowfall in Parun, the capital of Nuristan province, the number of tourists traveling to the region has significantly increased. The snow-covered mountain landscapes and pristine winter nature have turned Nuristan into an attractive destination for tourists from various provinces across the country.

Some tourists visiting Nuristan in recent days say that although they also enjoyed its lush nature during the summer, the winter scenes and snow-covered mountains have multiplied the beauty of the area.

Local Nuristani cuisine is another factor drawing tourists’ attention. Visitors also praise the hospitality of Nuristan residents, noting that despite economic challenges, the people warmly and sincerely welcome guests.

Local Taliban administration officials in Nuristan have stated that they have undertaken measures to ensure the security of tourists and provide amenities, allowing visitors to explore the natural attractions peacefully. Sami ul-Haq Haqbian, the head of Nuristan’s Department of Information and Culture, said that in previous years, the lack of proper roads and hotels were serious challenges for tourism, but these problems have somewhat lessened.

According to local officials, around 400,000 domestic and foreign tourists have visited Nuristan’s natural attractions and beauties during the current year.
