Turkmenistan Electricity Supply to Herat Temporarily Restored After Disruption

Breshna Company announced that the transmission line supplying imported electricity from Turkmenistan to Herat province has been temporarily reconnected after a disruption, restoring power to the region.
According to the company’s information, the line was previously damaged due to heavy rains, and technical teams are currently working on its comprehensive and permanent repair.
Breshna officials emphasized that the goal of these efforts is to stabilize electricity supply long-term and prevent frequent outages in the future. However, residents of Herat have repeatedly complained in recent years about power instability and weak infrastructure.
Infrastructure experts say that the lack of transparent planning and effective investment in the energy sector, especially under the Taliban administration, has left the western provinces of the country vulnerable to natural events, resulting in temporary and unstable provision of essential services.
