German Newspaper Reports Western Cyberattack Preparations Against Russia

According to a report by a German newspaper, hackers collaborating with official European agencies have revealed the West’s secret readiness to carry out cyberattacks against Russia’s infrastructure.
The news website Russia Today, citing the newspaper Die Welt, stated that these plans go beyond defensive measures and include offensive cyber activities. According to the source, methods such as infiltrating internal Russian computers and covertly installing malware have been practiced.
Die Welt also reported that Western governments are no longer focusing solely on protecting their networks but are systematically developing offensive cyber capabilities. Observers believe this shift in approach indicates rising tensions in the digital realm between the West and Russia.
The report further mentions exercises conducted at NATO’s Cyber Security Enhancement Center in Estonia, where NATO military personnel train for large-scale digital operations. Energy supply systems have been identified as targets in these drills.
