Two Explosions in Panjshir Kill Eight Taliban Members, Sources Say

Local sources have confirmed to Amu that at least eight Taliban members were killed following two explosions on Monday evening in Dara Abdullah Khil district of Panjshir province. According to these sources, the blasts occurred at the Taliban’s central base in the village of Manjanistu, with an unknown number of others reportedly wounded.

Sources added that the incident took place around 7:30 p.m., targeting a Taliban outpost located in the home of a local resident named Mawlawi Malik. While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, sources suggest that the nature and intensity of the explosions indicate that the explosives were likely planted inside the outpost in advance.

Following the blasts, Taliban-affiliated forces cordoned off parts of Dara Abdullah Khil and began questioning local residents. Sources from the area say the Taliban are not allowing anyone near the site of the incident, and movement within the village has been severely restricted.

The Taliban administration in Panjshir has yet to comment on the explosions or provide details about casualties among its forces. While the group often avoids confirming such incidents, local reports indicate growing public dissatisfaction and increased pressure on residents of the Abdullah Khil valley, raising concerns over local security and civil liberties under Taliban rule.
