Powerful Explosion Hits Afghanistan’s Panjshir Valley, Abdullah Khil Village Encircled

A powerful explosion shook Abdullah Khil village in Dara district of Afghanistan’s Panjshir province on Monday evening. According to local sources, the blast occurred around 7:10 pm when a checkpoint operated by Taliban forces was targeted. Residents reported that the explosion was so intense that its sound echoed across the entire district, heightening fear and concern among the population.
Following the incident, Taliban forces swiftly surrounded parts of Abdullah Khil village, completely restricting the movement of local residents. Such lockdowns frequently pose serious challenges to daily life and raise concerns about the protection of civilians’ basic rights.
As of the time of publication, Taliban officials in Panjshir had not issued any statement regarding the explosion or the current situation in the village. The lack of response from authorities has further fueled doubts about the transparency and accountability of the Taliban administration.
