UNRWA Office in Jerusalem Raided by Israeli Forces, UN Warns of International Law Violation

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has reported that Israeli security forces entered the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem this morning and conducted a search of the agency’s premises. According to UNRWA, the forces seized staff members’ mobile phones and blocked communication channels. No UN personnel were present in the building at the time of the incident.

The UN agency emphasized that the operation constitutes a clear violation of the inviolability of UN missions under international law. This is not the first time UNRWA facilities have come under attack; during previous military operations in the Gaza Strip, the agency’s offices and infrastructure were also targeted.

UNRWA warned that continued violations of the immunity of international organizations could raise serious international concerns and suggest mounting pressure on humanitarian mechanisms amid ongoing regional conflicts.
