Afghan Chamber Chief Attends International Oil and Gas Forum in Turkmenistan
Sayed Karim Hashemi, head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, attended the International Oil and Gas Conference (OGT 2026) as a representative of the country’s private sector. The event was held from Oct. 21 to Oct. 23 in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.
The conference brought together officials, investors and representatives of oil and gas companies from various countries to discuss expanding trade relations and investment opportunities.
On the sidelines of the event, Hashemi met with Mergen Gurdov, head of the Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as representatives of international companies, and stressed the need to expand cooperation between the private sectors of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
The head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce also invited foreign investors to travel to Afghanistan to visit and assess investment opportunities in the country’s oil and gas sector.
