Five Killed in Two Separate Traffic Accidents in Logar and Maidan Wardak

At least five people have been killed and six others injured in two deadly traffic accidents in Afghanistan’s Logar and Maidan Wardak provinces. Taliban officials in both regions have confirmed the incidents.
According to Ahmadullah Anas, spokesperson for the Taliban police command in Logar, a passenger vehicle veered off the Logar-Gardez highway and overturned, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuring one other.
In a separate incident in Maidan Wardak province, a collision between a Mazda truck and a Toyota Corolla passenger car claimed the lives of two women and left five others injured. The crash occurred along the Kabul-Kandahar highway.
Local Taliban authorities have blamed driver negligence as the primary cause of both accidents. However, the lack of comprehensive monitoring and preventive traffic measures by the Taliban administration has contributed to a rise in such incidents in recent months.
Just two days ago, another traffic accident in Faryab province claimed nine lives, underscoring a concerning surge in road accidents across the country.
