Security officials in Nimroz say they foiled smuggling of 327 tonnes

Security officials in Nimroz province have said they prevented the smuggling of 327 tonnes of equipment that, according to them, was intended for illegal migration to Iran.

The officials also said that in the same incidents, the transfer of 753 kilograms of narcotics was prevented. They said the drugs were being moved from Pakistan toward Nimroz.

The officials did not provide details on the exact type of the seized “equipment,” the location and time of the incident, or whether anyone was arrested in connection with it.

Nimroz is in southwestern Afghanistan and borders Iran and Pakistan. Due to its border location, it is considered one of the main routes for illegal movement and the smuggling of goods and narcotics.
