Five Afghan Companies Showcase Products at Jeddah Food Expo

Five Afghan companies took part in Saudi Arabia’s 2026 food exhibition in the city of Jeddah, displaying well-known Afghan products. Organisers say the booths drew interest from a number of Saudi buyers.
The exhibition was held from 27 to 29 September 2026, and the Afghan companies showcased dried fruits, nuts, spices, pomegranate juice and fruit juice for marketing and sales.
Their participation was supported by the Afghanistan Community Resilience Programme, an initiative funded by the European Union and implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
According to the United Nations Development Programme, the aim of the programme is to create new opportunities for vulnerable families and communities and help Afghan producers access domestic and international markets.
Based on information provided by UNDP, Afghan companies that took part in two international exhibitions last year under the programme secured “more than $25 million” in business opportunities.
It was also announced that 8 to 10 other Afghan companies will present their products at the international “Annapurna Inter Food” exhibition in Mumbai, India, to be held from 9 to 11 December 2026.
