Hundreds Protest in Paris, Call for France to Leave NATO and the EU

Several hundred people gathered in central Paris on Saturday to protest France’s continued support for Ukraine, calling for the country to leave NATO and the European Union and for Emmanuel Macron to step down. The rally was held at the invitation of Florian Philippot, leader of France’s right-wing Patriots party.
According to Mehr News Agency, citing a RIA Novosti correspondent in Paris, the protesters assembled in Place du Palais-Royal. They carried placards with slogans including ‘We will not die for Ukraine’ and ‘Macron, get out,’ and also voiced support for ‘Frexit.’
Speaking at the rally, Philippot said his party wants France to withdraw from the European Union and NATO, halt financial aid for the war in Ukraine, and end the delivery of weapons to Kyiv. He added that the resources, which he said French officials send to Kyiv, should be used to reduce fuel taxes in France.
