United Front claims killing of Taliban police member in Arghandab

The Afghanistan United Front has claimed that a Taliban police member was killed in an operation in the Sarband area of Arghandab district in Kandahar. A video released by the front about the incident does not show the body or the moment of the attack.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X on Oct. 3, the front said the operation was carried out on Friday, Oct. 2. It did not release further details about the identity of the person killed or how the incident unfolded.
The Taliban authorities have so far not commented on the claim. Over the past month, the United Front has also released videos of its claimed attacks.
The front says its forces carried out 68 operations in 19 provinces over the past two months, killing 102 Taliban members and wounding 45 others. According to the front, most of the attacks took place in southern provinces, especially Kandahar and Helmand.
Led by former Afghan army commander Sami Sadat, the United Front announced on Aug. 1 that it had begun military operations against the Taliban authorities and other groups.
