Sindh High Court Restores Afghan Students’ Access to University Classes

Pakistan’s Sindh High Court has ordered a medical university to restore access for Afghan students to classes and dormitories, ensuring their studies are not disrupted until the next court hearing.

The order was issued on Tuesday, 7 October, following a complaint by the students. The court asked the university to reinstate the complainant students to their classes and dormitories.

Earlier, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council had asked universities to prepare Afghan students already enrolled for a return to Afghanistan and had banned the admission of new Afghan students in the current academic year.

In response, Pakistan’s foreign ministry said Afghan students who hold valid visas and are enrolled in recognised courses can complete their studies.
