Qatar Says Washington and Tehran Talks Continue

Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, said talks between Washington and Tehran are continuing and that Doha is seeking to build common ground between the two sides. He added that efforts are focused on bringing the positions of the US and Iranian sides closer together.

Al-Ansari said the meetings are ongoing and that Qatar, as part of its mediation role, is conveying messages between the two sides. According to him, Doha supports a peaceful solution and stresses that regional infrastructure must be respected; any threat against these facilities is a violation of international law.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson also warned about developments in the West Bank, saying attempts to impose a situation contrary to international agreements and the Oslo Accords are worrying. He called for greater efforts to stop attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and said Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet has repeatedly tried to undermine efforts to establish a ceasefire in Gaza.
