Pakistan Says Afghan Banknotes Found on Four ‘Terrorists’ Killed in Raid

Pakistani security sources have claimed that some Afghan banknotes were recovered from four people killed in a security operation in Dera Ismail Khan.

The Dawn newspaper reported on Monday night, 28 September, that the four men were targeted and killed by Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on suspicion of links to terrorism.

According to Dawn, Pakistani security sources said weapons, ammunition and Afghan banknotes were also found on the men.

Pakistan has identified the men as members of the Pakistani Taliban, or Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Dera Ismail Khan is considered one of the insecure areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which has repeatedly seen operations by Pakistani security forces and attacks by armed groups in recent years.
