Reports: Netanyahu Made Secret Abu Dhabi Trip to Contain 7 October Leak
The Israel Times and Channel 12 in Israel have reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently made a quiet trip to Abu Dhabi, where he sought to prevent the disclosure of “behind-the-scenes facts” related to the 7 October 2023 attack. According to the reports, the main focus of the trip was a direct request to Mohammed bin Zayed.
These reports come after documents had previously been published showing that the UAE had warned before the 7 October attack about the imminent threat from Hamas and had shared information with Israeli parties about the group’s preparations for a large-scale operation. The release of this information could increase political pressure on Netanyahu.
The UAE Foreign Ministry has not commented on the details of the meeting. It has only said that it has “open and direct lines of communication” with Israel and shares “all relevant information” within the framework of security cooperation.
