Saudi Arabia launches fresh airstrikes on several Yemen regions
Saudi Arabia has once again targeted several areas in Yemen with airstrikes, continuing its attacks on the country. According to Yemeni sources, the strikes have also affected civilian areas and public infrastructure.
Mehr news agency, citing Al Masirah, reported that Saudi warplanes bombed the Al-Ta’ziyah area four times a short while ago. The Maran area was also hit by missile strikes.
Yahya Saree, spokesman for Yemen’s armed forces, said last night that 27 airstrikes were carried out over the past 24 hours. He said the attacks were carried out using F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets and from the air bases in Khamis Mushait and Taif.
He added that bridges, roads and other civilian facilities in the provinces of Taiz, Marib, Saada, Amran, Ibb and Hajjah were targeted in the strikes. According to the Yemeni official, the total number of Saudi air and missile strikes since the escalation of the conflict has reached 1,059.
Yemen is located in the south of the Arabian Peninsula and in recent years has repeatedly witnessed airstrikes and large-scale fighting, events that have led to the destruction of infrastructure and damage to civilian areas.
