Charter cargo aircraft added to Afghanistan’s air transport capacity

A charter cargo aircraft has been added to Afghanistan’s air transport capacity, Ariana Afghan said.

The company said a charter cargo plane arrived at Kabul International Airport today and is set to be used to transport goods and commercial cargo on international routes.

According to the company, the purpose of using the aircraft is to increase the capacity for carrying commercial shipments and to facilitate Afghanistan’s import and export process. Ariana said the aircraft can carry about 17 tonnes of cargo on each route.

Based on information published by Ariana, a one-year contract has been signed with Air Charter Express of the United Arab Emirates to operate the aircraft.

Ariana added that the plane will be used on international routes to enable faster delivery of Afghan commercial goods to foreign markets and the transport of needed shipments into the country.

Ariana Afghan is one of Afghanistan’s state-owned airlines, operating from Kabul International Airport and several other airports in the country.
