Taliban says 450,000 domestic tourists visited Panjshir this year

The Taliban administration in Panjshir says 450,000 domestic tourists and 500 foreign tourists have visited the province since the start of the year.

Saeeduddin Loton, the spokesman for the governor of Panjshir, said the visitors toured the province’s natural attractions, historical sites and different areas. He did not provide further details on the length of their stay, travel plans or the economic impact of the visits.

According to him, 70 tourists from Russia have also recently travelled to Panjshir and are due to visit the province’s natural, historical and recreational sites.

Panjshir is located in northeastern Afghanistan and, because of its mountain valleys, relatively cool climate and natural scenery, is considered one of the country’s best-known destinations for domestic tourism.
