Explosion Rocks Courthouse in Southern Turkey, One Injured

An explosion occurred inside a courthouse in Turkey’s southern Şanlıurfa province on Monday around midday, Turkish media outlets reported. The blast resulted in one person being injured.

Turkey’s Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç said the injured individual sustained a leg wound. Authorities have so far not provided further details regarding the nature of the explosion, its perpetrator, or potential target.

Şanlıurfa province, located near the Syrian border, has experienced several security incidents in recent years. The latest explosion has raised concerns about the vulnerability of judicial and security institutions in border regions.

The occurrence of such incidents in other countries highlights the ongoing need to secure judicial institutions in Afghanistan—especially at a time when the Taliban-led administration stands accused of undermining independent judicial bodies and failing to ensure public safety.
