Severe Flooding Hits Hat Yai, Thailand; Evacuations Underway

Widespread flooding has struck the southern Thai city of Hat Yai, prompting local authorities to begin evacuating residents and tourists. Reports indicate that water levels in some parts of the city have reached between 1.5 and 3 meters, causing significant damage to infrastructure.
Local media have reported that the ground floors of many buildings are completely submerged, leading to major disruptions in daily life. Images from the flooded areas depict the extensive inundation and severity of the crisis.
Hat Yai is a key commercial and tourism hub in southern Thailand. While the city has previously experienced seasonal floods, the current deluge is being described as one of the most severe in recent years.
Local authorities are actively working to rescue people stranded in hazardous zones using lifeboats and are relocating them to safer areas. Residents in low-lying areas have been warned to evacuate immediately.
