Taliban Reports Deadly Pakistani Airstrikes in Three Afghan Provinces

The Taliban administration has reported that Pakistani forces carried out overnight airstrikes on border regions in the Afghan provinces of Khost, Kunar, and Paktika, resulting in the deaths of at least nine children and one woman.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement that the raid took place around midnight, targeting a house in the Mughalgi area of Gurbuz district in Khost province. The house belonged to a local resident named Wilayat Khan, son of Qazi Mir. According to Mujahid, the house was destroyed in the bombardment, killing five boys, four girls, and one woman.
Mujahid also stated that areas in Kunar and Paktika provinces were hit by similar airstrikes. He said four civilians were injured and two residential homes were damaged as a result.
The attacks have sparked widespread anger and concern among the Afghan population. Pakistani officials have not commented on the incidents.
Pakistan has a long history of conducting military operations across the Afghan border, often citing the presence of insurgents as justification. However, the continued strikes without a formal response raise questions about the Taliban administration’s ability to assert national sovereignty and protect Afghan civilians.
