Gaza death toll rises to 73,419, Palestinian health ministry says

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said the number of people killed in the enclave since the start of the war on Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 73,419, with another 174,364 wounded.

According to the ministry, the bodies of two people killed and four injured people were transferred to Gaza hospitals in the past 48 hours.

The ministry also said that since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 11, 1,285 people have been killed and 4,252 injured.

It said 813 bodies have also been recovered from under the rubble since the ceasefire began.

The Gaza Strip is a coastal enclave in Palestine that has experienced one of the deadliest periods of the war in recent months, with its hospitals and health services under severe strain.
