Four Armed Robbers Killed in Taliban Operation in Kabul

In a continuation of similar incidents in Kabul, the Taliban administration announced that four armed individuals were killed during a clash with its forces in the 18th security district of the city; however, this claim has not yet been confirmed by independent sources.

Khalid Zadran, spokesperson for the Taliban security command in Kabul, wrote in a message on X on Monday, August 10, that these individuals had entered a house with the intent to rob, and upon the arrival of Taliban forces, an armed confrontation occurred. According to him, all four were killed on the spot, and two pistols were recovered from them.

However, no reliable information from independent sources has been published regarding the identities of these individuals, the exact details of the clash, or the circumstances of their deaths.

Previously, about ten days ago, the Taliban security command reported the killing of seven “armed robbers” in the 8th security district of Kabul; that event was also announced without further details about the identities of those involved.

In the past, the Taliban administration has executed individuals accused of theft by shooting, an action critics describe as a “summary court”. The administration has also faced allegations of shooting innocent people or political opponents under the pretext of them being “armed robbers,” accusations that require transparent and independent investigation.
