UNICEF Health Programs Benefit 627,000 People in Daikundi Province

The UNICEF representative in Afghanistan has stated that approximately 627,000 individuals in Daikundi province have been covered by community-based health and hygiene programs.

Tajuddin Oywala wrote on his X account on Monday, August 10, that Daikundi is the second province in Afghanistan, after Bamyan, where open defecation has been completely eliminated.

According to the report, these programs have been implemented in nine districts of Daikundi, aiming to improve public health conditions and provide a healthier environment for children.

The UNICEF representative added that the funding for these services has been provided with the support of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
