Afghan UN Envoy Invites Citizens to Participate in Survey on Country’s Future
Nasir Ahmad Faeeq, acting permanent representative of Afghanistan to the United Nations, has called on Afghan citizens to participate in an independent and voluntary survey regarding the current situation and future of the country.
On Monday, August 10, Faeeq announced in a statement that citizens can share their views, experiences, concerns, and suggestions through the special survey form.
According to Faeeq, wide public participation can help provide a more accurate picture of Afghanistan’s conditions and reflect citizens’ perspectives and priorities in United Nations discussions and international meetings.
The acting permanent representative of Afghanistan to the UN also urged media and journalists to help increase citizen participation by spreading this call. He emphasized that every viewpoint can play a role in representing the voice of the Afghan people in dialogues related to the country’s future.
Since the political changes in 2021, Afghanistan’s mission at the United Nations has continued to operate under diplomats appointed by the previous government, with the country’s political future and human rights situation being key topics of discussion within the UN body.
