Hezbollah Calls for Halt to Lebanon’s Direct Talks with Israel

Hussein al-Hajj Hassan, a representative of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in the Lebanese parliament, has described the continuation of direct negotiations between the Lebanese government and Israel as fruitless and urged Beirut to immediately stop this process.
In response to the ongoing direct talks, he emphasized that this approach has so far yielded no benefits for Lebanon and, in his view, has only led to “free concessions.” Al-Hajj Hassan added that while Israeli attacks on Lebanese areas continue, targeting homes and villages, advancing such negotiations is unjustifiable.
The Lebanese parliamentarian went on to say that the continued attacks demonstrate Israel’s commitment to aggressive and occupation policies, and the government must choose a path that protects Lebanon’s sovereignty and national rights.
Al-Hajj Hassan also stated that the perseverance and resistance of Lebanese citizens are the foundation of defending the country’s interests, and political decisions should be made in a way that prevents further concessions and prioritizes national interests.
