US CENTCOM Reports Rerouting of 48 Commercial Ships Amid Maritime Blockade Claims
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that, as part of what it describes as a ‘maritime blockade,’ it has rerouted the course of 48 commercial ships so far.
On Wednesday, the agency released a statement claiming that in addition to changing the routes of these vessels, it has disabled two ships and boarded two others. CENTCOM emphasized that it intends to continue enforcing this blockade against Iran, according to its own statements.
CENTCOM has previously made similar claims regarding its naval operations. Iranian officials have yet to issue an official response to these latest allegations.
The United States Central Command is responsible for the military operations of the US in parts of the Middle East, Central Asia, and surrounding waters.
