Israeli Defense Minister to Dismiss Central Command Army Chief Amid West Bank Dispute

Hebrew media have reported that Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has decided to dismiss Avi Blot, the commander of the country’s Central Command, following escalating disagreements over his handling of the situation in the West Bank.

According to these reports, Dadvar has been considered as a successor to Blot, and the process of restructuring the Central Command’s leadership is underway.

It is said that tensions between the Defense Minister and the Central Command chief intensified after Blot filed a legal complaint against Katz. The disputes are primarily related to security and political approaches toward the West Bank.

Some Israeli journalists have described this decision as an unprecedented shift within the army’s command level. According to Hebrew media, although some settlers support Blot, the disagreement with the Defense Minister regarding policies implemented in the West Bank paved the way for his dismissal.
