Taliban Reports Forced Return of 536 Afghan Migrant Families

The Taliban administration announced that yesterday, 536 families, comprising 2,702 Afghan citizens, were forcibly returned to the country; a process that has intensified significantly in recent months.

Hamdullah Fetrat, deputy spokesperson for the Taliban administration, stated on Wednesday, 7 Asad (July 29), in a statement that these families entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak crossing in Kandahar province, Torkham in Nangarhar province, Islam Qala in Herat province, and the Silk Road crossing in Nimroz province.

According to him, the largest number of these migrants returned via the Silk Road crossing in Nimroz.

In recent months, the forced return of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries has increased sharply, forcing thousands of families to leave their places of residence. Aid organizations have previously warned that this trend has heightened the need for shelter, healthcare services, and humanitarian assistance among the returning families, placing additional pressure on already limited resources.
