Iranian Army Claims Complete Destruction of US Infrastructure in Erbil
The spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army announced that during recent clashes, nearly all US infrastructure in Erbil, Iraq, has been destroyed, and most of the country’s bases are now operationally incapacitated.
Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia stated in a televised program that serious damage has been inflicted on US bases, especially in Erbil, which no longer possess their previous operational capacity. He also claimed that the so-called ‘anti-revolutionary’ groups based in the area have lost their ability to conduct ground operations against Iran following the recent attacks.
Referring to remarks by Donald Trump, the President of the United States, the Iranian army spokesman asserted that Washington had provided significant weaponry to these groups. According to him, the current situation has unfolded contrary to the predictions made by the US.
Akraminia further announced that by the end of the ’40-day war,’ new drones were unveiled, and Iran is now using drones more advanced than the ‘Arash 2,’ though their technical specifications have not yet been released. He added that some of the damaged equipment has been restored to operational status during the ceasefire period.
In another part of his remarks about the Strait of Hormuz situation, the spokesman said that returning conditions to those before the war depends on what he called ‘America’s respect for Iranian order.’ He also claimed that the US lacks a clear strategy for either continuing or ending the conflict.
Erbil, the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, has hosted some US military facilities and forces in recent years. At various times, tensions between Tehran and Washington have impacted the security situation in this area.
