Hamas Blames Israel for Ceasefire Violations and Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has issued a statement expressing concern over continued violations of the ceasefire agreement by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, placing full responsibility for the worsening humanitarian situation on Israel.
In a statement released yesterday, Hamas urged the countries that brokered the truce to pressure Israel into honoring its humanitarian commitments and keeping border crossings open for the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to civilians.
Hamas warned that the intensifying humanitarian crisis threatens the lives of thousands of Gaza residents, who are in immediate need of basic necessities, particularly food, medicine, and shelter.
In the most recent ceasefire violations, a Palestinian resident and his daughter were injured by Israeli artillery fire in the Bani Suheila area, east of Khan Younis. Additionally, a Palestinian child was shot and killed by Israeli forces in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.
Medical sources also reported that another citizen was killed in the Al-Atatra area in northern Gaza following an airstrike carried out by an Israeli drone.
Amid the ongoing violence, the World Food Programme has warned that two years into the war in Gaza, Palestinian families remain heavily reliant on food and humanitarian assistance.
The UK-based Guardian newspaper, citing sources close to Israeli authorities, has reported that a significant number of prisoners who died in Israeli custody were civilians from Gaza. The report sheds light on concerning aspects of Israel’s treatment of Palestinian detainees, highlighting allegations of unlawful and inhumane conduct.
