Over 3,700 Afghan Migrants Return to Country in One Day, Taliban Reports

Media outlets under Taliban administration have reported that in the past day, 3,753 Afghan migrants have returned to the country. According to Bakhtar News Agency, these individuals comprise 721 families who entered Afghanistan through border crossings on Saturday, July 18.

The report indicates that the trend of migrant returns has increased in recent months, with a significant portion of these individuals coming back from neighboring countries, particularly Pakistan and Iran. However, no details have been provided regarding whether these families returned voluntarily or forcibly.

Meanwhile, the forced return of Afghan refugees has consistently drawn reactions and criticism from international organizations. These bodies have repeatedly expressed concern about human rights conditions, limited access to essential services, and security challenges within the country.

Migration experts emphasize that under current circumstances, a lack of employment opportunities, social restrictions, and weak support infrastructure have made the reintegration of returning families difficult.
