New Religious School Opens in Logar Province

The Logar Education Directorate has announced the official opening of the Shaheed Molavi Mohammad Wali Haqqani School in the village of Doghabad, located in the Kalanqar district of the provincial capital. According to the directorate, the school is operated by the Taliban’s Islamic Education Department under the Ministry of Education’s authority.

Shahpur Arab, spokesperson for the Logar Education Directorate, stated that the establishment of the school followed a request from local residents and was carried out with the directorate’s persistent efforts. He added that with the opening of this center, religious education opportunities are now available for 110 children from the area, and children from neighboring regions can also benefit from it.

According to provided information, currently, 193 religious schools, Quran memorization centers (Darul Huffaz), Islamic seminaries (Darul Uloom), and orphanages operate under the Islamic Education Directorate of the Logar Education Department. However, there is a broad focus on expanding religious education centers at a time when many families continue to stress the need for strengthening modern schools and ensuring balanced access to diverse educational opportunities for children in this province.
