Iran and Qatar Discuss Tensions Between Afghanistan and Pakistan

In a phone call between Iran’s Foreign Minister and Qatar’s Prime Minister, the escalating tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan emerged as a key topic of discussion. Both sides expressed deep concern over rising insecurity and tensions along the shared borders of the two neighboring countries.
The two senior diplomats emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among regional nations to prevent the situation from deteriorating further and to seek peaceful solutions that could help de-escalate the conflict and promote stability.
In addition to the Afghanistan-Pakistan issue, the Iranian and Qatari officials also reviewed bilateral relations between Tehran and Doha, stressing the importance of expanding cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
The Palestinian issue and the recent developments in the Gaza Strip were also discussed. The diplomatic leaders of both countries agreed to continue consultations aimed at supporting the Palestinian people and safeguarding their legitimate rights, particularly the right to self-determination.
At the conclusion of the conversation, both parties underscored the need for stronger regional coordination to confront ongoing crises.
This diplomatic exchange comes at a time when the Taliban administration—due to its policies toward Pakistan and mismanagement of border affairs—is contributing to a worsening of the situation. Regional countries’ positions on the matter could significantly influence the trajectory of ongoing developments.
