Two Young Men Killed by Armed Robbers in Nangarhar

Local sources in Nangarhar province report that in two separate incidents, two young men were killed by armed robbers in Jalalabad city and Chaparhar district. These incidents occurred on consecutive days, raising concern among local residents.

In the first incident, on Thursday evening (July 2), a young man named Fayyaz-ur-Rahman was attacked in the Waliato area of the eighth district of Jalalabad city. According to a local source, he was confronted by armed men while returning home from congregational prayer. The attackers stole his cash and mobile phone before killing him.

In the second incident, on Friday (July 3), another young man named Zainatullah was attacked by armed robbers in the village of Qala Sheikh in Chaparhar district. Sources say the assailants took 12,500 Pakistani rupees and his mobile phone, then severely wounded him.

Zainatullah died hours after being transferred to a health center due to the severity of his injuries.

These incidents occur while the Taliban administration continues to claim it provides “comprehensive security” across the country. However, the recurring armed attacks and killings of citizens in various areas raise serious questions about the effectiveness of security measures and the responsibility of relevant authorities in protecting people’s lives and property.
