Explosion and Armed Clash in Karachi Kill Three Pakistani Soldiers

Pakistani media have reported that at least three Pakistani soldiers were killed and several others injured following an explosion accompanied by gunfire in the city of Karachi. The incident took place near several universities as well as the building of the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
According to Pakistani police, attackers targeted the main gate of the Rangers forces complex in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area using a car bomb. After the explosion, armed individuals entered the compound, and a fierce clash ensued between them and security forces.
Officials stated that during the counter-operation, four attackers were killed. Special forces and anti-terrorism units launched a clearance operation after besieging the area, and security measures around the incident site were heightened.
So far, no further details have been released regarding the exact number of wounded or the extent of the damage, and security investigations are ongoing. Hours after the attack, the group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction of the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the assault on the Rangers center in Karachi through a statement.
