India Invites 200 Afghan Traders to Participate in International Trade Expo

Seyed Karim Hashemi, head of Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Investment, during his ongoing visit to India, met with Premjit Lal, head of India’s Trade Development, and Tarun Bajaj, Senior Advisor for Agricultural and Food Development, to discuss expanding economic cooperation. The discussions focused on enhancing trade and investment relations between Kabul and New Delhi.

According to a statement from Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Hashemi emphasized joint investment in the food industry, product development, technology transfer, technical knowledge sharing, and broader participation by Afghan traders in India’s international trade exhibitions. He highlighted these measures as key to strengthening exports and improving access for Afghan products to regional markets.

Indian officials welcomed the prospect of expanding economic relations with Afghanistan and pledged to organize an online meeting between businesspeople and investors from both countries in the coming weeks. The purpose of this meeting will be to create practical cooperation opportunities and identify new investment prospects.

Additionally, India announced it will invite a 200-member delegation of Afghan traders and investors to participate in India’s international trade expo. At the conclusion of these meetings, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing economic collaboration, fostering joint investments, and strengthening trade ties between the two nations.
