New Check-Dam Completed in Ab Kamari District, Badghis Province at Cost of 1.8 Million Afghanis

Local Taliban officials in Badghis province announced the completion and inauguration of a new check-dam in the Ab Kamari district, built at a cost of 1.8 million Afghanis. This water structure was constructed with the aim of storing seasonal waters and better managing the region’s water resources. Rahimuddin Rahimi, spokesperson for the governor of Badghis, stated that the check-dam measures over 23 meters in length and has a storage capacity of nearly 4,000 cubic meters of water. According to him, the project can prevent the wastage of seasonal waters and enable their effective use during dry seasons. Local officials emphasized that besides water resource management, this project will play an important role in protecting agricultural lands. They believe that water storage in such structures can help improve agricultural conditions and strengthen natural resources in the relevant areas.
