162 Kilograms of Narcotics Seized in Nimroz Province, One Arrested

Nimroz security officials have announced that counter-narcotics police forces successfully discovered and seized 162 kilograms of illegal drugs during an intelligence-led operation in the province.

In connection with the case, one individual has been arrested along with a pistol, two magazines, and 20 rounds of ammunition. According to security authorities, this person has been handed over to judicial institutions for prosecution following preliminary investigations.

While drug trafficking and transportation remain serious challenges in Nimroz—especially in its border areas with Iran—the Taliban administration has yet to introduce a clear and structured plan to manage the crisis.

The growing activity of drug trafficking networks and sporadic arrests point to the Taliban’s inability to control smuggling operations and establish sustained security, an issue that has increasingly alarmed both citizens and civil society organizations.
