Cash Aid Distributed to 396 Needy Families in Farah Province

The Farah Provincial Police Command announced that a total of one and a half million Afghanis in cash assistance has been distributed to 396 needy families in the province. According to the authority, the recipient families included beggars, vulnerable individuals, and women-headed households, who were identified as eligible by an appointed committee.
Officials from the command stated that the process of identification and aid distribution was carried out in collaboration with a special committee, and only families meeting the necessary criteria were included in the program.
Farah province, located in the west of the country, is among the regions where part of the population faces economic challenges and a lack of employment opportunities. In recent years, rising poverty and unemployment have increased the number of families requiring urgent assistance.
However, social experts consistently emphasize that temporary cash aid cannot be a fundamental solution to poverty reduction. The Taliban administration needs to implement sustainable employment generation and social support programs on a larger scale to help needy families break free from dependency on short-term aid.
