The Polish Border Guard announced that over the past weekend, 45 undocumented migrants, including several Afghan nationals, were detained while attempting to illegally cross the border between Poland and Lithuania.

On Monday, June 15, the agency posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) page that the detained individuals did not have valid documents for residency or transit through Polish territory. The Polish Border Guard also reported the detention of a Ukrainian woman who is being prosecuted on charges of smuggling four illegal migrants.

The arrested migrants include citizens from Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Afghanistan. Poland has previously reported similar incidents involving the detention of illegal migrants, including Afghan nationals, at its borders.
