Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif Warns Rising Tensions Highlight Risks of Fragile Ceasefire in Middle East

Shahbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, has called on all parties to exercise restraint and strengthen diplomatic efforts in response to the recent escalation of clashes between Iran and Israel. He emphasized that the intensification of violence in the Middle East could have extensive and alarming consequences.
On Monday, the Pakistani Prime Minister wrote in a post on the social media platform X that the recent rise in tensions underscores the dangers posed by a fragile ceasefire. According to him, any expansion of the conflict could seriously challenge regional stability.
Sharif, referring to his country’s role in mediating to end the war between Iran and the United States, added that efforts to reach a peaceful solution are ongoing. He stressed that while diplomatic processes are underway and the prospect of an agreement has strengthened, all sides need to give peace more opportunity.
These remarks came after Iran launched missile attacks in response to recent events in southern Lebanon and the Dahieh region of Beirut. Subsequently, the Central Command of Hazrat Khatam al-Anbia (PBUH) issued a statement announcing the cessation of operations by the Iranian Armed Forces, while simultaneously warning that further actions could be more severe if the clashes continue.
The recent developments continue amid global concerns over the widening tensions in the Middle East, with international calls emphasizing the necessity to reduce hostilities and return to political dialogue.
