Turkey Says Israel Does Not Benefit from US-Iran Peace, Condemns Israeli Actions in Lebanon

Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s Foreign Minister, stated that Israel does not see a potential peace between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran as being in its own interest. He also described Israel’s recent actions in Lebanon as a “clear violation of the ceasefire” and emphasized the necessity of halting the conflicts.
In remarks broadcast by Al Jazeera, Fidan said Turkey believes that reducing tensions between Washington and Tehran could contribute to regional stability. However, he noted that Israel does not regard such a process as aligned with its interests.
The Turkish Foreign Minister added that Pakistan is also working to advance the talks, and Ankara is collaborating with Qatar to help bring the US-Iran negotiations to a successful conclusion. He did not provide further details about these collaborations.
Referring to the security situation in the region, Fidan stressed the urgent need to establish a ceasefire on all fronts. He asserted that Israel’s actions in Lebanon contradict ceasefire agreements and could escalate tensions in the region.
Lebanon has witnessed repeated border clashes and military tensions with Israel over recent years, an issue that has consistently raised concerns about a wider regional crisis in the Middle East.
