Fuel Prices Rise by Two Afghanis in Kabul Amid Economic Concerns

The price of diesel and gas in Kabul’s markets has increased by two Afghanis in recent days, causing widespread concern among drivers and residents of the capital. According to several motorbike drivers, the price of one liter of diesel has risen from 64 to 66 Afghanis.
Drivers say this continuous increase has raised transportation costs and daily expenses, intensifying economic pressure on families. They note that while many Kabul residents already face living difficulties, even a small hike in fuel prices can affect the cost of goods and services.
On the other side, officials in the Taliban administration stated that recent developments in the region have caused fluctuations in diesel and gas prices. They added that through market oversight and anti-hoarding measures, they are striving to maintain relative stability in fuel product prices.
However, citizens expect the Taliban administration to adopt more practical solutions beyond market monitoring to control price hikes, as fuel is a basic commodity whose price changes directly impact other economic sectors.
