Coal Mine Explosion in China Leaves at Least 90 Dead

A gas explosion at a coal mine in northern China has left at least 90 people dead. The incident occurred on Friday evening at the Liushunao mine in Shanxi province, and rescue operations are ongoing.

According to reports from Xinhua News Agency, the explosion took place around 7:30 p.m. local time deep underground. At the time of the accident, 247 workers were inside the mine.

With the death toll rapidly rising on Saturday, rescue teams have been urged to intensify their efforts to save survivors. Reports indicate that more than 100 injured individuals have been transported to hospitals.

Images published by Chinese media show ambulances at the scene and rescuers carrying the wounded on stretchers. Search and rescue operations continue.
