Estonia Supports Vital Maternal Healthcare Services in Afghanistan

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has announced that, with the support of Estonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, vital maternal healthcare services in Afghanistan are being strengthened.

The organization stated that this cooperation enables the provision of life-saving care to vulnerable women and girls in critical areas where access to healthcare, especially reproductive health and antenatal care, faces serious challenges.

UNFPA expressed gratitude to the Estonian government, highlighting that this support is crucial for continuing humanitarian activities in Afghanistan. It emphasized that such collaborations can help reduce health risks for mothers and newborns in crisis situations.

In recent years, Afghanistan has faced successive humanitarian crises, and international organizations are striving to maintain and enhance essential healthcare services for vulnerable groups through targeted assistance.
