100 kW Solar Power System Installed at Argun District Hospital in Paktika

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced the installation and activation of a 100-kilowatt solar power system at the Argun district hospital in Paktika province. This initiative aims to provide reliable electricity to support essential health services.
According to published information, this solar system now covers critical hospital departments, including operating rooms, maternity wards, laboratories, vaccine storage refrigerators, and infant warming devices.
Officials stated that having continuous electricity can reduce the risk of interruptions in health service delivery and enable safer and more consistent care for patients, especially mothers and newborns.
Paktika province, located in southeastern Afghanistan, is one of the areas where access to the national electricity grid is limited in many regions. Using solar energy can be a practical alternative to strengthen public services, particularly in healthcare centers.
