Taliban Officials Urge Completion of Migrant Settlements in Logar Province

Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the Taliban’s Minister of Migrants and Returnees, met with Qari Salahuddin Ayubi, the governor of Logar province, to discuss the situation of migrants and the ongoing aid efforts for returnees in the area. According to the ministry, the meeting emphasized the urgent completion of settlements allocated for migrants and addressing their immediate needs.

Local officials from Logar provided information about the conditions of migrants and the assistance that has been delivered. The Ministry of Migrants stated that basic aid and essential services for returnees have been provided by the Taliban administration and cooperating organizations in the province.

Qari Salahuddin Ayubi highlighted the importance of establishing dedicated settlements as a permanent solution to the migrants’ challenges. He stated that several settlements have been planned to offer permanent shelter for thousands of families. According to him, the preliminary work on these projects is nearing completion, and the remaining tasks must be expedited.

However, many returnee families across various provinces, including Logar, continue to face shortages of shelter, healthcare services, and job opportunities. The fulfillment of the commitments announced by the Taliban administration is considered critical for them. Delays in completing housing projects could increase pressure on displaced families.

At the end of the meeting, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir praised the efforts of local officials in Logar and said that the proposals raised would be shared with relevant departments, with necessary coordination ensured to continue aid delivery.
