New Head Appointed to Kandahar International Airport

The Kandahar Media and Information Center announced that, by the order of the Taliban leader, Feda Muhammad Nezami has been appointed as the head of Ahmad Shah Baba International Airport in the second district of Kandahar city. According to the center, he officially began his duties after an introduction ceremony.
The ceremony was held on Saturday with the presence of several local officials. During the event, Mirza Ahmad Muhammad Zahid, the head of human resources for the Kandahar local administration, emphasized “obedience to leadership” and described administrative restructuring as a fundamental principle of management.
Jamaluddin Mabarur, the oversight and evaluation official of the local administration, was also present at the ceremony. The event included expressions of appreciation for the performance of the previous head, and employees were urged to fully cooperate with the new leader.
Ahmad Shah Baba Airport is considered one of the major transportation facilities in southern Afghanistan. The appointment of key officials through direct orders from the Taliban leader is part of the centralized decision-making structure within the administration—a practice that has often sparked debates in recent years regarding transparency and administrative participation.
